After using Final Cut to edit the visual element to oure preliminary task, i found that I wasn't sure how to put a backing track into, or use sound effectively in Final Cut Express, so I looked on YouTube for a tutorial and found this video:
After watching this, I am more confident with using Final Cut, and I am not afraid to use it to its fullest potential, and use it effectively

Final cut express Slow Motion effect
Slow Motion
I have thought about many films that have used slow motion for effect. I believe this technique is used as it is able to recapture a specific moment in a film, to create suspense, romance or stress onto a specific moment. This technique could also be used in a bullet dodge scene as the Matrix used this very well, this would be used as technology was a 100% result in our questionnaire. Or a bullet chase scene, where we try to follow a bullet to its target.
I have looked once again at youtube to learn about final cut express and how to apply this technique.

Final cut express 'Gun shot' effect
Some of our questionnaire results that required films to be named well very useful. From the results I concluded that we should include some violent scenes possibly a gunshot of some sort. This is drawn from our results as they mention that the last film they watched was "Bourne ultimatum" and that one of their favourite films was "Bourne ultimatum, "Terminator", "The dark knight" and "Taken". All these films include guns and fast paced scenes.
This is why I have begun to look at gunshot effect tutorials for final cut express so that we can appeal to our audience who are interested in a violent thriller film as well as making our film more realistic.

Due to our 100% result on our questionnaire for technology I have decided to look for technological effects and technological films. My first thought was the Matrix. As I have recently been looking at final cut express I looked again onto youtube for a result. I have now found a tutorial explaining how to do the matrix fighting scene. This is useful as we may be able to use it to appeal to our audience who are interested in technology. However I am not entirely sure if this will be able to be incorporated in our film. But none the less I think it will be useful and we may be able to make something of it.

As I said in one of my other posts I was going to look at 'Livetype' to see if it would help in making our film titles look more realistic. Seems like it will. It seems like a great product, I have done some research on it and have found that "It can import any standard media files and can create text tracks whose style can be meticulously specified. 'Mirror image' tutorial
I thought that a good mirror image effect in our film may help to create a more twisting plot as well as help us decide what genre of thriller we may pursue. The 'Mirror' effect intrigued me as it could add a split in our characters personality as well as making our film more complex.
This video has also helped with my confidence with final cut express while additionally helping me learn how to layer images together. Also through one of the comments made about the beginning of the video I now am looking at a program called 'Livetype' which comes with final cut express. This program would allows the team to create a realistic and outstanding opening credits.

First of all I wanted to know how to do the basic effects on final cut express and then I would like to learn how to do more complex effects such as the 'Sin City' effect and the 'Mirror' effect.
I decided to use youtube again as this is an easy and suitable way to learn new things to do with final cut express. I look just for a basic effects tutorial to start myself off.
Through this video I have learned how to crop and distort the image, change the position of an image as well as changing the scale and rotation of the image.
