Hanibal Rising

This film tells the story of how Hannibal Lecter became a twisted cannibal. The whole way through the film, you watch him take revenge on a group of soldiers from the Second World War. We assume that it is because they killed his younger sister, which in part it was. It is not until the very end that we realise that Lecter himself had eaten (unknown at first) his sister too. The scene at the end, where he rescues his aunt from the bad guy, only to be seen to be eating him alive after, is very shocking and very graphic; blood around his mouth, almost like a vampire.

Again there is a contrast between the horrificness of the killing with the completely normal looking and acting killer.

I definitely think our opening should incorporate this more bloody approach. This is backed up by the information that not many thrillers are released in the UK, only 8%, and only 9.7% were horror: (http://sy10.ukfilmcouncil.ry.com/4.1.2.asp ). However, horror did take slightly more money and a higher percentage at the box office, so if we incorporate a more bloody approach, we should target a higher amount of viewers.
