The statistics for ‘I, Robot’ shows that more males watched the film, than females, and therefore shows that more males appear to watch Thriller films than females. This is shown by the number of votes given to rate the film on the IMDB website:
This also tells us that males aged 18-29 dominate the market for Thriller films, but males aged 30-44 also have a big market for Thrillers. Under 18’s don’t generally tend to watch Thriller films, especially under 18 year old females. Although males are the dominant viewers for Thriller films, they do also appeal to females aged from 18-44. Overall this shows that Thriller films have a relatively large market that is predominately males aged 18-29. I have taken into account the fact that the main subscribers to IMDB are males aged 18-29, and will therefore have a slight advantage on the votes.
